Chapter 159 Speculation
"Ah—Loila has really had a tough time these past few days." Sitting next to Luna and listening to Luna's comforting words, Loila felt that her life had been worthwhile.
She reached out her small hand and gently squeezed Loila's shoulder: "But this is a good thing too."
"Good thing?" Loila was stunned for a moment.
"Yeah." Luna lowered her head and pressed her face against Loila's, causing Loila to subconsciously shift her body.
"Because the harassing flies have all left you," Luna continued, unconcerned. "Whenever you have harassing flies around you, something unpleasant always happens."
"Is that so?" Loila pursed her lips. Although she had never seen a harassing fly, this was something Luna had mentioned—it must exist, right?
"Lockhart has a lot of swarms of swarms," Luna continued casually. "They've been following him ever since Christmas."
"Lohart—Mr. Lockhart?" Loila pondered for a few seconds, and a somewhat strange thought came to her subconscious.
Could it be that the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's curse is the harassing horsefly? If I tell Dumbledore this information, will he give me a raise?
Wait a minute—Roy suddenly realized something and immediately patted his face to calm down his ears, which had been twitching excitedly.
Why am I thinking about my salary and work all the time now? I'm a freeloader who never works—it seems a bit embarrassing to say that—but, but this is my rest time—I shouldn't think about my salary—should I think about something happy instead?
Hmm—Loila suddenly felt like nothing happy had happened, and there was no progress on either magic array studies or Mr. Riddle's matter.
The glowing magic circle hasn't made any progress yet—it seems that every time I feel like I'm about to make some progress, I have to stop because of my physical condition.
Damn curse—
Ok?
Loila suddenly realized what was happening and looked at Luna: "Luna—Luna!"
"What's wrong, Loila?" Luna seemed to have been thinking about something else, and she looked at Loila with a slightly dazed expression.
"That—that magic circle—" Loila exclaimed excitedly, "Do you remember it?"
"Is it that magic circle that attracts the harassing horseflies?" Luna tilted her head and immediately guessed what Loira was talking about. She nodded slightly and said, "Of course I remember."
"You haven't been studying it lately, have you?"
"Hmm—Hmm!" Loila nodded and immediately pulled out the Space Expansion Book from her body. With a tap of her wand, the parchment with the magic circle inscribed on it flew out and she took it in her hand.
"I just—I just had an idea—" Loila held the magic circle in both hands, stood up, and strode quickly towards the edge of the Forbidden Forest: "We—we're going—to find Hagrid!"
As Loila walked, she couldn't help but feel a little regretful. How could she have been so stupid! She clearly knew the effect of this magic circle long ago—yet she hadn't made the connection at all—
Instead, my thoughts were swayed by all sorts of strange factors—curses, harassing flies, and magic circles—they could all be the same thing!
Loila didn't know if her guess was accurate, but there was only one way to prove it now.
"Hagrid!" As she reached the door of Hagrid's hut, Loila raised her hand and punched him twice, but the result was that she had to clutch her hand in pain and take a few steps back.
"What's wrong, Professor Hamilton?" Hagrid opened the door, looking at Loira and Luna with some surprise. "Weren't you supposed to arrive this afternoon?"
"Of course, it's fine to come now. Come in and have some rock skin—"
"No, no, no, no!" Loila quickly shook her head and said, "We—we didn't come here to eat—"
"I want to—I want to meet a unicorn!"
"A unicorn?" Hagrid stood there, scratching his head. "Now?"
"It seems a bit difficult—" he was saying, but seeing Loila's face darken instantly, he quickly changed his mind and said, "But it's not impossible."
"I know they rest in one place in the morning —"
Hagrid said, bending over as he stepped out of the hut, "Come with me!"
Although he didn't know what Professor Hamilton wanted to do, Hagrid could still see her urgency, so the giant didn't even bring his teeth and strode straight toward the Forbidden Forest.
Hagrid—Hagrid, slow down! Although Royla was also anxious, Hagrid was too fast—as a half-giant, he was much faster than half-Velves and humans.
Loila and Luna had to jog to keep up with Haig's brisk pace.
By the time they reached a lakeside, Loila was already out of breath—she really was—
He really lacks exercise —
Loila's face, hidden under her hood, was even damp with sweat—she glanced at Luna beside her and couldn't help but blush slightly.
My physical strength is even worse than that of a first-grader?
"They're right here," Hagrid's voice came, and he turned slightly to look at Loila leaning against the tree. "Look—there."
Loila nodded and looked in the direction Hagrid was pointing. Several unicorns were standing quietly by the lake, drinking water—one of them was particularly memorable to Loila; it was the unicorn she had rescued in the Forbidden Forest.
It was also the unicorn she rode twice later.
"I—can I talk to it?" Loila pursed her lips, straightened her robe, and looked at Hagrid. "I—I have something—I have something I want to ask it."
Hagrid paused for a moment, then said, "Of course, Professor Hamilton."
"However, the unicorn's thoughts have always been unknown. Whether it is willing to help you—" Hagrid hadn't finished speaking when Loila had already stepped out of the bushes.
This must be the most decisive she's ever been, because if her guess is true—it's no small matter!
It might even hurt someone!
The thought of this made Loila unable to control her emotions; she had to know the answer as soon as possible!
Even without drafting a plan or practicing for a few days beforehand, I still had to ask the unicorn in front of me for help.
"Good morning—" Loila said hastily, causing the unicorns to raise their heads.
However, perhaps because Loila had helped their companions before, none of the unicorns ran away. They just looked at Loila with a strange, scrutinizing gaze.
Except for that unicorn—it looked at Loila affectionately and then walked over on its front hooves.
"Ugh!" Startled by the unicorn's sudden movement, Loila instinctively took a step back, only to miss her footing and fall to the ground.
But her actions didn't seem to surprise the unicorn; it gently lowered its head and nuzzled Loila with its head.
Loila bit her lip, took a deep breath, and then reached out to hug the unicorn's head.
"I'm so sorry," Loila said softly, "I have something I want to ask you."
"?" The unicorn raised its head slightly, looking at Loila with a curious expression.
It—it understood!
Seeing this, Loila calmed herself down and then said as gently as possible, without her voice trembling, "I hope—I hope to get—some of your blood."
