Chapter 66: Potions? Nothing special! [5th Update]
Daphne's happiness is gone.
The iconic scene of Snape being foul-mouthed and late is gone.
Ian's mood was visibly downcast.
"What's wrong?" Aurora asked her companion with concern. Ian sighed heavily, his eyes dimming as he watched Snape walk quickly to the podium.
"I have lost all the happiness of today."
He had brought a gift specifically for Daphne Greengrass, but she was still on the first floor and hadn't caught her breath. Or perhaps the clever pure-blooded wizard had foreseen his prediction.
"Oh, I see, you were kissed by a Dementor." Aurora calmly tidied her textbook, which was surprisingly full of detailed notes.
Ian noticed this when he turned his head.
"I've let you get the deluxe version!"
He noticed the annotations, clearly from the Potions Masters of the Saints, and murmured in amazement.
"Make a pair!"
Aurora chanted a spell over her textbook, and an identical copy was immediately created. Her delicate little hands pushed it toward Ian.
"That's enough for one class. I'll continue sharing with you in the next Potions class."
Aurora's cool voice had a hint of abacus beads in it.
"I'm not envious at all."
Ian eagerly flipped open his textbook and began reading the annotations. He figured he'd be able to enter the Enchanted Realm again tomorrow night; he wondered how Professor Mara's research on the new era of potions was going.
"Very good. It seems that all of you here understand the importance of punctuality, which is especially crucial in the potion-making process." Snape, standing on the podium, had already begun his lesson.
"The preparation of potions is a precise and rigorous process. Some people may think it is not magic. In fact, few people can appreciate the wonderful feeling of the crucible simmering over a low flame, emitting white smoke and a truly fragrant aroma. Even fewer people can truly feel the magic contained in the liquid that flows into people's veins."
Snape began to scan all the young wizards present with his dark-eyed gaze.
He paused briefly.
Meanwhile, Ian was whispering to his friends downstairs.
"He's about to start bragging."
The words fell.
as predicted.
"I can teach you how to raise your reputation, cultivate your glory, and even—" Snape paused deliberately before emphasizing his words.
"Stop the death!"
In the end, Ian witnessed a memorable scene.
His eyes regained their light.
"Actually, Snape couldn't do it. His opening line was all copied. He's about to call us idiots and fools." Ian's words made the little girl next to him pause in surprise.
Then, just as Ian said.
"I can teach you a lot, but only if you're not the kind of fools and idiots I often encounter." Snape delivered his annual show-off moment with perfect timing.
Because Ian and Aurora were sitting further back, Snape couldn't hear their whispers at all; he only saw Ian talking to Grindelwald.
He chose to ignore it.
"How did you know? Can you predict the future?" Aurora stared wide-eyed in disbelief, her bright eyes filled with astonishment.
"Huh?"
Ian paused for a moment.
"What do you mean by 'also'?"
He noticed the key element.
"Our family has this kind of talent; we can see things in the future. Actually, what happened just now..."
"I saw it as soon as I entered the classroom." Aurora didn't hold back at all, pointing to her eyes without any attempt to hide it.
"Was your grandfather also like that?"
Ian was startled. He didn't really know much about the Grindelwald family; before he transmigrated, he'd heard there was a movie about Grindelwald about to be released.
"He's far more capable than me."
Aurora answered solemnly.
"Um—" Ian didn't sense anything unusual, hesitated for a moment before asking, "If I may ask, did he foresee his own ending?"
Faced with this inquiry.
Aurora's expression did not change.
"His followers still believe that the past and present circumstances were merely choices made by my grandfather for the sake of a greater good."
The German girl did not give a direct response.
but.
"I understand now—the power of faith is truly terrifying."
Ian clicked his tongue in amazement.
"Who can argue with that?"
Aurora nodded in agreement.
"Now, work in pairs to brew the boil medicine. I must remind you to be very careful during the process, unless you want to go and accompany Miss Daphne."
By this time, Snape had finished explaining the textbook content and was ready to let the young wizards practice. He glanced at Ian and Aurora, who were whispering to each other.
immediately.
He looked expressionlessly towards the Slytherin area.
"Michael Jordan, go back to your own academy." There always needs to be an outlet for the anger in one's heart.
Snape chose the black guy who had been staying in the Slytherin area.
With two limited-edition skins together, it's impossible to ignore them.
"Huh?"
Michael was naturally unwilling. He looked at Ravenclaw's area, or more precisely, Ian's location, with a face full of "why is this happening?"
I don't want to say it a second time.
Snape's voice was very stern.
"Okay, Professor."
Michael shrank back, picked up his things, and slunk away to the corner. William was still huddled alone in the corner when class started.
The course continues.
"Hurry and grab the materials, or they'll take them all." Ian pulled out his gleaming golden crucible.
While fiddling with it, he spoke to Aurora.
"Oh well."
Aurora quickly stood up and ran towards the locker.
Everyone is selecting materials.
Surprisingly, Snape didn't reprimand anyone or deduct any points. He simply walked around the classroom, eventually stopping in front of Ian, who was pretending to build a cauldron.
Aurora had already retrieved the materials quickly, because one of the young wizards from Slytherin had directly given her the herbs he had chosen.
"Mr. Prince, why haven't you started making it yet?" Snape asked, watching Aurora sharpen her snake fangs.
He spoke coldly to Ian, who hadn't managed to set up the pottery pile after a long time.
"Professor, we are working together with a division of labor."
Ian responded in a very serious manner.
Snape glanced speechlessly at the busy Aurora.
He gritted his teeth and left.
but.
His gaze remained fixed on Ian and Aurora. Then, Snape witnessed a scene that made him grit his teeth in anger, so much so that he wanted to kick Ian out on the spot.
Aurora sharpened her snake fangs.
Ian is starting a fire.
Aurora has dealt with the horned slug.
Ian is starting a fire.
Aurora added the porcupine quills and began stirring vigorously.
Ian is starting a fire.
After five laps, the potion was complete—Ian extinguished the fire.
