Chapter 12 Roger VS Whitebeard
Chapter 12 Roger VS Whitebeard
Rayleigh looked at the three warships charging towards him with an enigmatic smile. He was pondering whether to lure the navy over and take them out, or to shake them off later. It seemed there was no need to think about it anymore; the other side had already made their decision.
"Hey Roger, the navy is charging over there."
"We arrived just in time; it's a good opportunity to warm up."
Roger's lips curled into a wide smile, revealing his white teeth. He placed Moko on the ground and took off his captain's hat, placing it directly on Shanks' straw hat.
Moko looked at Shanks wearing two hats, covered her mouth and chuckled. Her father's captain's hat really didn't suit Shanks at all; it looked too strange.
Seeing Moko smirking, Shanks raised an eyebrow, his smile deepening. He reached out and pinched Moko's cheek, causing his captain's hat to tilt slightly, making his curly beard and skull look like he was trying to be cute.
"Moko-chan~"
"This is for Shanks."
Moko tried her best to suppress her laughter, but her orange-pink eyes were full of smiles. Moko pretended that nothing was wrong, took out the chocolate from her backpack and handed it to Shanks. Shanks helplessly and affectionately pinched the tip of Moko's nose, the corners of his mouth slightly curved, and accepted the chocolate.
As the warship approached, the dumpling pile tightly protected Moko in the middle. Watching the waves of navy rushing down from the warship and the countless cannonballs in the sky, Roger calmly ate an apple.
"Oh, quite a few people have come, but it's still not enough."
As soon as he finished speaking, Roger threw the fruit pit in his hand directly at the cannonballs in the air. It was as if the sound of air bursting was passing by his ears. The fruit pit hit a series of cannonballs, which exploded in mid-air, bursting into black clouds.
The moment the explosion rang out, everyone rushed out. The sounds of clashing weapons echoed in their ears. Compared to the Golden Lion Pirates, this number of people was indeed far from enough. Compared to the limitations at sea, on land, this number of people couldn't even scratch Roger's clothes.
The battle was very loud, and the once quiet island suddenly became lively. Animals are always extremely sensitive to the aura of danger, and the dangerous aura emanating from Roger and his group was similar to that of a giant demon. All the animals within a radius of dozens of miles from the battlefield began to flee to the other side of the island, fearing that if they were a step too slow, they would all be killed.
While everyone was fighting, Moko wasn't idle either. She attacked the Marines with her dagger, while Shanks took care of the remaining Marines. He would occasionally correct Moko's sword-wielding movements, as the best way to improve swordsmanship is through actual combat, and only in battle can hidden problems be revealed.
Every time Shanks pointed out a problem, Moko would immediately correct it, and her sword-wielding speed would increase. Combined with her understanding of the human body, Moko's attacks were almost precise, and each strike could incapacitate the attacking Marines.
Seeing that Moko had practiced enough, the others sped up their efforts to deal with the Marines. In battles like these that didn't require much effort, everyone would tacitly let Moko practice on some enemies. As a result, Moko's swordsmanship had improved rapidly over the past two years, and she was no longer as naive as when she first started training.
"If you want to arrest me, call Garp or Sengoku over here! It's no fun with just you guys, you're not enough to keep up."
The battle ended quickly. Roger grabbed a marine by the collar with one hand and roared, thinking he could warm up, but it turned out that these marines were far too weak.
The naval captain being carried had his eyes rolled back, clearly having been beaten unconscious. He had underestimated Roger; so many of them couldn't even scratch Roger's head. Roger was simply a demon!
"Ah! Captain!"
Buggy, who was scouting on the mountain, suddenly shouted to Roger, "Whitebeard's ship has appeared on the other side of the island! They seem to have noticed us too!"
Roger's eyes were full of fighting spirit. He had come at the perfect time, just in time for Roger to finish his fight. Rayleigh looked at Roger like this and said with a helpless tone.
"We've only just finished a battle, Roger."
"Whitebeard, it's been a long time."
"The flock of birds is getting restless; it looks like they've come ashore."
Rayleigh glanced at the birds that had suddenly taken flight in the forest and spoke softly. Shanks squatted down beside him, took out a piece of chocolate, broke it off, and fed it to Moko before eating it himself.
"Alright, let's have a fight then. Only the living can fight each other. I don't have many days left to live, and this is the last time I'll see you, Whitebeard."
Roger looked in another direction on the island and spoke softly, his tone calm yet full of nostalgia. Moko tilted her head and said, "Whitebeard, isn't he the great pirate who was as famous as my father in the newspapers? Has he come to this island now?"
"Who is that guy? He's so fast! Is he a samurai?!"
Bucky shouted through the binoculars, his voice filled with disbelief and shock.
"A samurai?" Roger's eyes flashed with interest, then, as if he had just thought of something, his expression turned to surprise. "That legendary samurai?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Moko heard a strange cry coming from the forest. A moment later, she saw a man wearing a kimono with a strange hairstyle rush out. Jabba and Rayleigh drew their swords and pointed them at the man, while Shanks reached out to protect Moko behind him.
"Just like the rumors say, he's very strong. Should we stop him as soon as possible, Rayleigh?"
"Let's do it this way."
Jabba and Rayleigh showed no fear as they watched the man charging towards them, and were about to rush forward when Roger's sudden voice interrupted them.
"Wait a minute, Jabba, Rayleigh, we can't let you get hurt, hehehe."
Despite saying this, Roger ran past the two with a completely carefree grin, looking like he was determined to do something fun.
"You just want to do it yourself, don't you?"
Rayleigh hit the nail on the head, then looked helplessly at Roger, who was rushing out like a child.
Shanks and Moko stood aside watching Roger about to clash with the samurai. Shanks fed her another piece of chocolate, but Moko shook her head and blinked at Shanks.
"Shanks, I'm full."
Without saying much, Shanks popped the rest of the chocolate into his mouth, then carried Moko further away from the battlefield. He knew that a big battle was about to break out, so he needed to get Moko to a safe place first.
"Hello, samurai!"
As Roger greeted the man, he drew his sword. Looking at the man charging towards him with two swords, Roger's smile remained unchanged, and a faint black-red aura of dominance emanated from his body.
"Gods, beware!"
A domineering black and red sword aura suddenly struck the man as Roger swung his sword. The man was hit by the sword aura and his body flew backward, crashing into the trees behind him with a series of cracking sounds, until his body was embedded in a giant black tree before finally coming to a stop.
The atmosphere of battle intensified. The samurai who had been knocked away was quite unconvinced. He watched as the man jumped out of the hole in the giant tree and ran back quickly. At this moment, a tall white figure jumped down from the sky, stepping on the tree trunk. He had golden hair and a white beard shaped like a horizontal crescent moon. He held a huge naginata in his hand.
"Shanks, that man."
Shanks looked in the direction Moko was pointing, a strange gleam of joy in his eyes. "That's Whitebeard. Looks like this is going to be fun."
As soon as he finished speaking, Whitebeard raised his naginata, gathering his power. Black and red Haki gathered on the blade, and Whitebeard slashed straight down at Roger from mid-air. Roger curled his lips, gripped his sword with both hands, and black and red Haki wrapped around it as he met Whitebeard's attack head-on.
The domineering attack exploded with overwhelming force, the clouds in the sky were suddenly blasted apart, and the ground collapsed with huge cracks due to the collision of the two people's domineering auras. The explosive airflow swept in all directions, and many trees and people were blown away.
Before the gust of wind arrived, Shanks quickly crouched down and held Moko tightly in his arms. The dumpling pile also quickly held the two of them tightly in their arms to prevent them from being blown away. Poor Buggy, who didn't have time to dodge, was hugging a coconut tree and was blown away, losing all composure.
The surrounding air currents were turbulent for a while before slowly calming down. Feeling the air currents stabilize, Shanks stood up and looked at the two tall figures in the smoke and dust, a smile playing on his lips.
"Moko-chan, you stay here obediently, I'll go find some pretty gems for you."
Shanks patted Moko on the head, drew his sword, and strode towards the center of the battle. Moko puffed out her cheeks angrily, watching the people rushing towards the center of the battle with resentment. So, the fun thing is to go and fight?
"Ooh?"
"Hey, Tuanzi, let's go back to the ship first."
Moko patted Tuanzi's head. Moko wouldn't go into a fight of this level, and judging from the situation, it seemed like both sides were just playing around. Moko looked back at the two pirate crews that had already started fighting with some worry, sighed, and decided that since she couldn't persuade them anyway, she might as well let them be.
They thought they would finish fighting in one night, but they didn't return until the morning of the fourth day, still with smiles on their faces. As they walked down to the bottom of the boat, a sense of danger approached, and everyone stopped in their tracks, stiffening their necks as they slowly looked ahead.
Moko, wearing a milky white dress, sat on Tuanzi's back, her fair legs swaying slightly, looking at the returning crowd with a half-smile.
"Um, Little Moko~"
Everyone felt uneasy, swallowed hard, and winked at Moke in a flattering manner. Moke's voice was soft and sweet, but everyone could still detect a dangerous aura in it.
"Is it fun?"
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone seemed to see sparks flying from the black and red aura emanating from Moko's body. They all unconsciously took a small step back and pointed at Roger. Roger looked at everyone in disbelief, and everyone gave Roger a look of encouragement and sympathy.
(Everyone: It's all the captain's fault, it has nothing to do with them! o(o?3?′o))
"Dad~"
Moko's voice sounded from behind him. Roger stiffly turned around and looked at Moko ingratiatingly.
"Little Moko~ It's been too long since we last saw Newgate, so we chatted for a while longer."
Roger held up a small section of his finger, muttering with a forced smile, but his voice lacked any real confidence.
Moko rarely gets angry, but when she does, everyone on the ship is afraid of her. It's not that Moko is strong, but rather that everyone favors her. Because of this favoritism, everyone pays special attention to Moko's feelings and thoughts, and they are willing to endure it if she gets angry.
Moko stared intently at everyone without saying a word. Everyone looked guilty and dared not look directly at Moko. After checking, they found that everyone had only superficial injuries. Moko secretly breathed a sigh of relief, then turned around angrily and walked towards the boat. The others couldn't figure out Moko's mood and dared not speak or follow her.
Halfway there, with no movement from the people behind her, Moko turned back to look at them helplessly, her voice soft and gentle.
"Breakfast is ready. Eat it and then go to sleep. No matter what the banquet or whatever is coming up, you need to get some rest first."
"Oh! Xiao Mo is so thoughtful!"
"Ah, our lovely Moko baby!"
Seeing that Mo Ke wasn't angry anymore, everyone cheered. Mo Ke's lips curled up slightly. Actually, she wasn't angry that they fought, but how could they fight from day to night for three days and three nights? Mo Ke had been worried for three days and three nights. When she saw everyone returning with smiles on their faces, she was naturally a little annoyed. But fortunately, everyone was alright, so she wouldn't say anything to them this time.
