Chapter 16 Audrey's Observations and Summary
Chapter 16 Audrey's Observations and Summary
Even for a large and extraordinary organization like the "Rose School," Sequence 6 and Sequence 5 members are its backbone.
Audrey knew very well that Raphael's plan was highly feasible, and that it could at least take down one of the opponent's Sequence 7 "Werewolves" and one of their Sequence 6 "Undead".
She thought for a moment and then asked, "If this plan is implemented, what benefits do you hope to gain?"
Raphael said unhurriedly, "A 'werewolf' trait."
He now hopes to advance to Sequence 7, because once he reaches Sequence 7, a qualitative change will occur, granting him strong aggression and running speed far exceeding that of ordinary people.
Although they don't have any particularly strange abilities, the "werewolf" is one of the most powerful sequences among the 22 pathways.
Audrey didn't give an immediate answer, but said, "I'll think about it."
Raphael stood up and said, "Well then, Miss Hall, it's a pleasure to have you as a guest of the Mafia."
"However, it's getting late, and I think it's time to escort the noble Miss Hall back to her residence."
Audrey was both amused and exasperated: "A guest?"
Raphael didn't dwell on the matter, but instead called out, "Carter, call a carriage to take Hall... to take the guest back to Queen Road."
……
More than an hour later.
Queen's Road, the Earl of Hall's mansion.
When Audrey returned, she first went to see her father and mother. The Earl and Countess Hall did not seem too worried; instead, they scolded their daughter a couple of times.
During yesterday's kidnapping incident, Audrey left a letter for her parents on her maid Anne, telling them that she had not been kidnapped, but had something very important to deal with.
To make the scene more convincing, Audrey hypnotized Anne, instructing her that as soon as Anne left the carriage, she should immediately return to Earl Hall's villa and deliver the letter to her mother or father.
The police were unaware of the letter, so they followed standard procedures. Upon discovering it was an extraordinary incident, they immediately transferred the case to the Night Watch team.
So at the scene, they only found the coachman and the carriage, but not Audrey's personal maid.
The Earl and Countess of Hall knew their daughter was extraordinary, so they weren't too worried about her safety, but as nobles, such an action was too reckless.
With a sweet smile on her face, Audrey quickly appeased her parents with a few words, then returned to her room, asked Susie to keep watch for her, prayed to "The Fool," and reported that her observation was over.
A dozen seconds later, Audrey's vision was covered by gray mist, and she arrived at the venue of the Tarot Meeting, the tall giant hall.
At the head of the long bronze table, behind the swirling gray mist, sat the mysterious and aloof Mr. Fool on a bronze chair.
Audrey rose and bowed, saying, "Good afternoon, Mr. Fool."
"The Fool" Klein nodded slightly: "Tell me about your observation process and final conclusion."
"Yes." After Audrey sat down, she began to recount the entire kidnapping process of Raphael.
When Klein, behind the gray fog, heard that Raphael would pet cats while meeting with people seeking help, he almost couldn't help but twitch his lips: Does this guy really think he's the godfather?
Audrey's account was very detailed, taking more than twenty minutes to get to the point where Raphael proposed the collaboration, and she asked Mr. Fool if he wanted to use Raphael to strike at the "Indulgence Faction".
Klein thought to himself: Miss Sharon must be very interested in this.
However, Raphael's desire to break away from the "Indulgence Faction" gave Klein a slight sense of relief. He was afraid that this "madman" was related to the "Mother Tree of Desire" and was another of the Outer God's schemes against him.
Thinking of this, he said leisurely, "You should discuss this matter with 'The World'."
The great and mysterious Mr. Fool would certainly not care about such trivial matters, but Mr. World, who hates evil as much as he does, really enjoys cracking down on these wicked madmen.
At this point, Audrey already had a way to contact Mr. "World" in the real world, and she smiled and agreed.
Then she began to state her conclusion: "Raphael's madness was largely due to his potion, but he made good use of its effects..."
"Yes, that's quite rare. Most extraordinary individuals try their best to avoid the effects of potions and rarely use them to their advantage."
Klein thought to himself: That's spot on. The saying "fortune and misfortune are intertwined" is a wisdom that only an extraordinary person from the East could understand.
Audrey continued, "Although Raphael is somewhat radical, he is very wise and seems to be thinking about giving up everything at present, which makes it difficult to judge his behavior and thinking."
"Fortunately, he was friendly enough to me, otherwise, as an enemy, he would have been a real headache."
"Overall, he is a very contradictory person, both crazy and rational, kind and evil, but he can find a delicate balance among these contradictions."
"The Fool" Klein nodded: "You have done a good job. In return for this equal exchange, you may state your needs."
He thought to himself, "Justice" has a very high opinion of Raphael.
Audrey had already decided what she wanted in exchange: "Respected 'Fool,' I wish to know the source of Raphael's special abilities? Why does he possess such unique qualities?"
Klein thought to himself: If I knew, I wouldn't have asked you guys to do this investigation!
However, as the unfathomable Mr. Fool, he certainly couldn't say such a thing. He still said in a calm tone, "Raphael's specialness comes from the struggle of some hidden beings."
Klein wouldn't explain exactly which entities they were, but he was certain that they involved high-level powers or beings, otherwise they wouldn't have triggered the power "above the gray fog".
Mr. Fool's answer made Audrey think: the hidden being that could attract Mr. Fool's attention must be of a very high level!
She then thought of many other things, but none of them were helpful.
Finally, Audrey thought: "The Fool" didn't offer any further explanation, so it seems I'm not at a level where I have the authority to understand the whole story."
In her disappointment, she was completely unaware that this was actually Mr. Fool's charlatanry.
After finishing her business, Audrey returned to the real world. A dozen minutes later, a man wearing a top hat and with a cold expression appeared at the door of Audrey's room. This was Klein, disguised as Gehrman Sparrow.
He knocked politely before entering and asked, "Mr. 'Fool,' you told me you had a lead on the 'Libertarians'?"
……
Bridge District, Caven Street.
Raphael looked at the letter that had suddenly appeared on the table in front of him and couldn't help but marvel at the wonders of this extraordinary world.
He had heard of extraordinary messengers before, but this was the first time he had met one.
However, this messenger, who seemed very powerful and carried four heads, asked him for a gold coin for postage!
I never expected that spirit beings also like gold.
This was a letter from Miss Hall. After reading it, Raphael immediately called out to Carter outside the room, "Carter, didn't you say a few days ago that a friend who sells arms got his hands on a 'repeating rifle'? Go ask him about the price."
The so-called "repeating gun" is a submachine gun designed and produced by Luen a few years ago, and it is still rarely seen on the market.
