Chapter 23 Solving the Problem
Chapter 23 Solving the Problem
Ji Cheng scratched his head in frustration: "I even thought about asking Shen Qing to reshoot it, but there's simply not enough time."
"Not enough time?" Wei Hongsi asked, somewhat puzzled. "Is it that she doesn't have time?"
"No, that's not it. Shen Qing has to attend the new product launch, so her schedule for the next few days is all reserved for us." Ji Cheng said with a long sigh, "The main problem is that filming the scene took too long. Don't be fooled by the fact that the longest version in Plan B is only a little over a minute long; it took us almost ten days to film it."
"I don't think so. Copying homework is always easier than doing it yourself," Wei Hongsi said thoughtfully. "If we just copy the scenes and storyboards from Plan B and hire the previous filming team, it should greatly shorten the time."
"That makes sense!" Ji Cheng perked up immediately. "Mr. Pang, what do you think?"
Pang Weizhi pondered for a moment and then slowly nodded: "We can give it a try."
Ji Cheng immediately took out his phone and called Shen Qing's agent. After some back and forth, Shen Qing agreed to a reshoot the next day.
He then contacted the previous filming team and reached an agreement without much effort.
With the reshoot settled, Ji Cheng felt much more relaxed. After hanging up the phone, he said with a sigh, "Engineer Wei, President Lu, thankfully your analysis report came out quickly, more than a day ahead of schedule. Otherwise, we really wouldn't have had any room to maneuver, and we would have had to use Plan D instead."
He had some reservations about Zhiwei Technology. There's a saying, what was it again? "Those who uphold the rules cannot escape blame!" He'd just looked it up online that afternoon.
But he won't hold a grudge against Lu Jiaqi and Wei Hongsi because of this. Individuals are individuals, and companies are companies, especially large companies; they should be handled separately.
Therefore, Ji Cheng was still grateful to these two people, and he would mention it whenever he had the chance, so that their superiors would know the situation.
In his view, to succeed in a big company, you not only have to achieve results, but you also have to let your superiors know that you have achieved results. Only then can it be considered a merit. Otherwise, all your efforts will be in vain.
How could Ji Yongsheng not understand Ji Cheng's intentions?
In fact, there was no need for the other party to remind him. During the internal investigation, he did not miss any details and naturally knew from which link the day's time was extracted.
However, the fact that they were able to maintain the relationship with the client shows that Wei Hongsi and Lu Jiaqi did a good job, which is quite rare.
What's even more commendable is that, on the surface, the final solution was proposed by Ji Cheng, and Pang Weizhi agreed to it; Wei Hongsi only played a guiding role.
This way of handling problems is quite sophisticated; no wonder the CEO thinks highly of this young man.
Little did he know that Wei Hongsi's focus was not on this, and the so-called "guidance" was merely an unintentional act.
In response to Ji Cheng's praise, Wei Hongsi modestly asked, "Mr. Ji, did the filming team you just contacted have any objections?"
"That's right. It's not just the filming crew; Shen Qing also has complaints, but not directed at us; she has complaints about Peng Jun."
Ji Cheng hadn't kept his phone call a secret from anyone, and the private room was quiet, so it was normal for someone to overhear a little. He assumed Wei Hongsi was worried about the quality of the reshoot, so he didn't think much of it and even offered a few more explanations.
"When Peng Jun was in charge of filming GG, he was extremely strict. Every shot, frame, movement, and lighting had to be done according to his wishes. If it didn't meet his requirements, it had to be reshot. Before they filmed GG, Shen Qing's agent and the head of photography, Lao Huang, both complained to us and had a lot of complaints."
"In hindsight, this is a good thing. Lao Huang told me that he had memorized the whole situation, so he took on the scriptwriting and storyboarding work as well. I wouldn't say it's exactly the same as the original, but it's at least very close to it."
Upon hearing this, Wei Hongsi became even more certain of his previous guess, but still needed to verify it.
Perhaps seeing that Ji Cheng was talking too much, Pang Weizhi said, "We still need to strive for perfection and try our best to make it well."
Ji Yongsheng said, "Mr. Pang, if you feel that the footage produced after a day of shooting is a bit rough, we can continue shooting later. Don't worry, we will cover all the costs."
Pang Weizhi smiled and said, "Mr. Ji, you're too kind."
For companies of the size of Amusement Park and Zhiwei, the cost of reshooting a bad scene is a small matter, but Ji Yongsheng's words expressed an attitude of standing together through thick and thin.
Who wouldn't like a partner like that?
With the key issue resolved, everyone was finally in the mood to eat something.
Having gathered enough information, Wei Hongsi said he had already eaten and had work to attend to, so he took his leave.
At this moment, he couldn't help but admire Wu Wenjun's foresight. If they had discussed business first when they met his brother and the others at the small restaurant, they would probably still be starving by now.
After leaving the restaurant, Wei Hongsi didn't rush back to the main building. Instead, he went outside and called his older brother.
Wei Hongbo was on his way to Zhiwei Technology when he heard his younger brother's request and couldn't help but feel a little strange: "You want Peng Jun's previous works? Were there problems with those works too?"
"There might not be a problem, but we might be able to find some clues in it. It would be best to get the original film."
"Okay, I understand."
Wei Hongbo agreed. Judging that the matter wouldn't be too difficult, he then called Zhang Shengyong and asked him to handle it.
After Wei Hongsi finished his phone call with his older brother, he sent a message to Gu Shiming on WD, saying that he wanted to discuss some things with him in person.
Shortly after, Gu Shiming replied: "Come to the office of the director of Department 5 on the 13th floor."
Wei Hongsi looked up at the Zhiwei Technology Building; almost every floor was lit up. Since joining the company, he hadn't had many tasks and left work on time every day, so he rarely saw the main building at night.
The director's office of Department Five originally belonged to Mu Wei, but Gu Shiming is temporarily using it to lead the CMS overhaul.
When Wei Hongsi entered, Gu Shiming and Qian Jiayu were discussing the rectification plan.
Upon seeing Wei Hongsi enter, the two paused their discussion. Gu Shiming asked, "What's going on?"
Wei Hongsi said, "I suspect that Solution B was not quite normal before the CMS rendered it."
Gu Shiming raised an eyebrow: "Tell me in detail."
Qian Jiayu looked at Wei Hongsi with concern.
"This morning, I used CMS to perform reverse analysis on the eye-tracking data of Plan B, and reconstructed the subconscious trigger points of Plan B. At that time, I thought that it would be difficult to accurately trigger several types of negative emotions in the subconscious using traditional shooting and editing methods."
Wei Hongsi paused for a moment and then said, "But if we reverse the process, and a regular video is rendered using only a CMS, can it achieve the same effect as Solution B?"
Gu Shiming immediately understood his meaning: "Unless the original video itself contains subconscious trigger points!"
"That makes sense!" Qian Jiayu's eyes lit up, and he strongly agreed with this deduction.
