Infinite Flow: An Invitation from World B

Chapter 8 Prison Bully

Chapter 8 Prison Bully

Let's go back to the restaurant timeline.

After Lao Zeng and the other three finished discussing their action plan, they each began asking for clues.

Liu Runyu is socially awkward; asking him to talk to someone is practically the same as killing him.

He wandered aimlessly around the tables, his shoulders hunched, carrying his plate, his gaze shifting between the many unfamiliar and cold stares, before avoiding those sharp, piercing eyes.

It's as if you'd get beaten up if you looked at it even once.

He kept his head down and didn't notice that someone was walking straight towards him without giving way.

With a muffled thud, Liu Runyu felt as if he had bumped into a wall, and his plate was knocked over to the ground.

He awkwardly squatted down to pick up the plate that had fallen to the ground, but one of his feet stepped on it before he could.

Liu Runyu looked up in alarm at the person in front of him.

This person was thin and short, but his sharp, eagle-like eyes and angular, thin face immediately put Liu Runyu under pressure.

The atmosphere around them quieted down a bit with the sound of plates hitting the ground, and sharp eyes with a hint of murderous intent looked down at the people on the ground.

The man brushed the food stains off his clothes, said nothing, and just glanced to his left.

Immediately afterwards, with a crisp "snap," Liu Runyu felt a wave of dizziness and his face flushed, followed by a burning sensation.

Before he could recover from the pain, the tall, dark-skinned man grabbed him by the collar and pulled him up from the ground.

"If your eyesight isn't good, I'll take it off for you," the dark-skinned man threatened, glaring at Liu Runyu.

Liu Runyu had never seen anything like this before. His mind went completely blank, and he could only keep apologizing as if it were a conditioned reflex.

"Take him with you to change my clothes."

"Walk!"

At this moment, the three people sitting together in the distance discussing the clues were completely unaware of this matter.

After waiting for a long time and seeing that Liu Runyu had not yet appeared, the three decided to go to the place where they could keep watch and meet up with Liu Runyu there.

Exercise area.

After separating from the women's ward, the three walked towards the center of the area, chatting with other prisoners as they went. They knew very little, and what they heard was always the same old stuff.

It was now around noon, and the police officer who had said he would take them to do chores had not come looking for them. Unable to get any new clues, the three decided to return to the restaurant along the way.

Ron, who was walking behind, looked up and glanced around, searching for Sissan.

But in that very glance, he saw a three-tiered bench by the wall, where three or five unfamiliar prisoners with unfriendly expressions were sitting.

Liu Runyu was kneeling at the feet of a thin man.

Ron quickly stopped the two who were still walking forward and pointed in Liu Runyu's direction.

"Let's go take a look."

After hesitating for a moment, Old Zeng walked towards the stool first, instructing the two men that he would deal with these people later, implying that they should not speak.

Having already given up hope, Liu Runyu saw that the people approaching from afar were Ron and his two companions, and frantically crawled towards them as if a glimmer of hope had been rekindled in his heart.

But after climbing a few steps, he was grabbed by the collar and dragged back, falling heavily to the ground.

When they reached a distance of about 2 meters from the bench, two burly prisoners stood up and walked towards Ron and his two companions, blocking their way. Their eyes were filled with undisguised vigilance and murderous intent.

"Help...help me! I'm still useful! Please don't abandon me!" Liu Runyu looked extremely disheveled at this moment.

His hair was disheveled, one of his glasses was cracked, there was a very obvious handprint on his face, and his clothes were dusty and covered with footprints.

"Seniors, uh... I don't know what mistake he made..." Old Zeng was interrupted by the people blocking their way before he could finish speaking. "It seems you know each other."

"I guess so, we shared a cell." Old Zeng didn't give a definite answer.

First, he didn't know the origins of the people in front of him, and second, he didn't know what Liu Runyu had done.

If we directly say that we have a good relationship and plead for leniency, it's hard to guarantee that the three of them won't be implicated.

"He wasn't watching where he was going when he was eating and bumped into our boss, spilling his food all over him. Our boss is kind; making him kneel as punishment is already a mercy."

"I apologize on his behalf. I'm sorry, seniors. Please forgive him since he didn't do it on purpose." Old Zeng's attitude was very humble.

Upon hearing this, the two prisoners turned around and looked at the thin man.

The man slowly stood up from the stool, supporting himself on his legs, and came to the three people.

This person was not tall, but even looking up at him, his sharp gaze still made the three of them tremble.

The man pursed his lips and said quietly, "No, he has to do things for me to make up for his mistakes."

"Of course, of course. May I ask what the seniors plan to have him do?" Old Zeng bent down even lower.

"What I do is none of your business!" a prisoner standing to the side shouted sternly.

At that moment, an idea popped into Lao Zeng's mind: he thought this might be a rare opportunity.

So he quickly said, "Senior, you misunderstand. I didn't mean to inquire. I was just thinking that if there's anything we can do to help, we can."

Old Zeng was very cautious. After a pause, he hurriedly added, "I don't want wages. It's a way of making amends for that young man's mistake."

The thin man stared at Lao Zeng's sincere face, then slowly shifted his gaze to Luo and Su.

After examining him carefully, he pointed to Su Zixu and said, "Then let's go with him. Come here and wait for him tomorrow and the day after tomorrow afternoon."

After saying that, the thin man glanced at Old Zeng, and then gave the other prisoners a look.

Upon receiving the order, the tall, burly man lifted Liu Runyu, who was kneeling on the ground, and the group of prisoners watched as they prepared to leave the area.

I had only taken a few steps when I heard Old Zeng's voice from behind me: "I still don't know your honorable name, senior."

Upon hearing this, the prisoners burst into laughter, and one of them shouted with a grin:

"You bunch of idiots, you don't even know Boss Edwin? Remember him well, or we'll beat him up."

After saying that, he patted Liu Runyu on the back of the head.

After warning the three men, the group of prisoners turned and walked away without looking back.

After watching the group of prisoners walk away, Old Zeng dropped his previous humble demeanor and looked at Su Zixu, saying:

"I don't know if this counts as a breakthrough, but there aren't many opportunities right now, so you should go with them."

At this moment, Su Zixu remained relatively calm, squinting as he said, "I'm fine, he should be the prison bully that Xisang mentioned."

If there really is a clue, it would be difficult for Liu Runyu to obtain it on his own. It would be good for me to go with him so that we can look out for each other.

Looking at the calm-looking young man in front of him, Old Zhou felt a little relieved.

At this moment, he felt even more confident in the young man before him, and patted Su Zixu on the shoulder, saying:

"It's best if you think that way. Tomorrow and the day after, I'll discuss it with Edwin and have him tell the prison guards that they're short-staffed."

"Ron and I are enough for the daily work. You need to keep your eyes open and be careful."

After giving Su Zixu his instructions, the three of them headed towards the restaurant.

Just as they were about to enter the restaurant, the three were stopped by a prison guard with an unfamiliar face: "The boss is looking for you."

The prison guard looked at the three men, and realizing it was lunchtime, continued:

"I'll wait for you here. You can eat first. You have 15 minutes to finish eating. After you finish, go straight to the bathroom. He'll be waiting for you there. I'll take you there in a bit."
