He paused, his eyes scanning everyone.
"He believed that until his death. Loki won, he made us fight amongst ourselves, he made us suspicious, and he made the Avengers a joke."
Fury picked up a card; the bloodstains were right on the captain's shield.
“Coulson died because he wanted to buy you time. He risked his life to ensure you could unite.”
He put the card back on the table.
"Now, tell me, did he bet right?"
After saying that, Fury turned and left.
The medical room was deathly silent.
The mockery on Tony's face vanished, replaced by coldness. Steve clenched his fists, his nails digging into his flesh. Thor looked at Coulson's face, remembering the fallen heroes of Asgard.
“He’s right,” Steve said first, his voice low. “We let him down.”
“Then let’s make amends,” Tony said. “I’ll let Loki know that messing with my people or my building will come at a price.”
“He is my brother,” Thor gripped his hammer, “and I will end his sins.”
“Loki’s target is Stark Tower; he wants to use the Arc Reactor to activate the Tesseract.” Steve spread out a map of New York. “We must stop him before he opens the portal.”
“It’s too late.” Tony put on his Mark 6 armor and closed the visor. “That’s my territory. I’m going first.”
After saying that, he flew out of the rear door of the fighter jet and turned into a red-gold streak of light.
“I can’t wait either.” Thor twirled his hammer, nodded to Steve, and said, “See you on the battlefield.”
He too flew out of the hatch, swung his hammer, and chased after them, accompanied by lightning.
“Hey! You guys…” Steve called out helplessly.
"Never mind them, Captain," Chu Hang said. "You take the fighter jet, bring Natasha, and get there as quickly as possible. I'll get there faster than you."
How will you get there?
"Take a shortcut."
Chu Hang knew he had [fixed-point teleportation], so he arrived in the blink of an eye.
He watched all of this without feeling anything in his heart.
He knew Fury was acting; the card was bloodstained and had been taken from Coulson's office by Fury.
But he didn't call him out on it. Because it was very useful.
He followed Fury out of the medical room and called out to him in the empty hallway.
Fury stopped and turned around, his single eye revealing no emotion.
"Well done, a great speech," Chu Hang said.
"I do not know what you're talking about."
"Stop pretending." Chu Hang walked up to him and lowered his voice. "S.H.I.E.L.D. has a Tahiti project. It uses Kree bodily fluids to resurrect the dead. The side effects are severe, but Coulson just died, his body is still warm, there's still time."
Fury's pupils contracted sharply.
His facial muscles froze, and for the first time, his single eye revealed unconcealed shock.
The Tahiti Project is a top secret of S.H.I.E.L.D., known to no more than five people. How did he find out?
"Don't let him lie there for too long." Chu Hang patted Fury on the shoulder, as if giving a small instruction. "A good agent shouldn't be wasted like this. Using a dead man to boost morale is enough once."
After saying that, Chu Hang turned and left.
Fury stood there alone, his back covered in a layer of cold sweat.
Who exactly is this man? What else does he know?
He took a deep breath, took out his communicator, and dialed an encrypted line.
"Activate the Tahiti Agreement. Yes, the one you're thinking of."
Chu Hang closed his eyes and activated [Targeted Teleportation].
He pinpointed the coordinates of Stark Tower.
As soon as the spatial energy was activated, he felt an unprecedented resistance.
The space above New York was like a pot of boiling water, filled with violent and chaotic energy. The power of the Cosmic Cube was being activated, like a giant disruptor, completely distorting its precise coordinates.
The best outcome of a forced teleportation is falling into the Atlantic Ocean; the worst outcome is being torn to pieces by spatial turbulence.
"Damn it." Chu Hang opened his eyes and frowned.
Loki unintentionally crippled one of his most powerful weapons.
"What's wrong?" Nick, who had just finished making a phone call, noticed that his expression was off.
“The space is unstable, so there’s no way to stop Loki immediately,” Chu Hang explained. “We can only fly there.”
He walked to the cabin door.
The next second, golden light burst forth from his body.
[Binary Form]!
He was enveloped in dazzling cosmic energy, which lifted him into the air. He was like a small sun.
"I'm going."
Before he finished speaking, a long golden tail of flame shot out from behind him, instantly breaking the sound barrier with a loud bang, and flew towards New York.
It was more than twice as fast as Tony's armor.
New York, top floor of Stark Tower.
Dr. Eric has installed the device, and the Cosmic Cube is emitting a ghostly blue light at its core.
Loki, scepter in hand, stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the city.
“That’s about it,” he said, turning to Saviger.
Szavig's eyes were vacant as he nodded mechanically.
Loki raised his scepter, its tip pointing at the Tesseract.
"let's start."
A beam of energy shot out from the scepter.
The device suddenly lit up, and a thick blue beam of light shot into the sky, piercing through the clouds.
The sky, like a piece of glass, was shattered by the beam of light.
A black dot appeared, rapidly expanded, and became a rotating wormhole.
On the other side of the wormhole lies a dark universe and a massive fleet.
People on the street stopped in their tracks, looking up at the strange phenomenon in the sky, their faces filled with confusion and fear.
At that moment, a red and gold figure swept in and landed on the terrace of Stark Tower.
He walked into the hall and saw Loki holding a glass of wine, watching him leisurely.
"Go ahead," Loki gestured.
"Thanks." Tony walked to the bar and poured himself a drink. "With all that commotion, aren't you afraid of being discovered?"
“I want to be discovered,” Loki smiled. “I brought peace. Your freedom is the greatest shackle.”
“I see your army.” Tony took a sip of his drink and pointed to the wormhole in the sky. “The Chitauri? Not familiar with them. But I guess they’re not here for sightseeing.”
"I will be the king of this planet."
“Okay.” Tony put down his glass. “But you have to get past us first. We are the Avengers.”
As he spoke, he quietly put on the sensor bracelet on his wrist.
Loki smiled, walked up to Tony, and pointed the tip of his scepter at the Arc Reactor on Tony's chest.
"You can't stop me."
He applied a little more force.
With a crisp sound, the energy of the scepter was deflected.
Loki was stunned.
"Looks like this trick doesn't work on everyone," Tony shrugged.
Loki's face turned ashen. He grabbed Tony by the neck, lifted him up, and threw him violently out the window.
Tony was falling through the air.
The bracelet on her wrist emitted a red light.
The Mark 6 armor in the distance automatically disassembled, and like a flock of red and gold birds, it whistled in and precisely reassembled onto him in mid-air.
The engine started, Tony flipped over, and flew back towards Stark Tower.
He hovered in the air, raising the energy cannons in his hands and aiming them at Loki.
"And one more thing."
Just as he was about to fire, a figure fell from the sky and crashed into him.
"Don't hurt him! He's my brother!" Thor shouted, shoving Tony back into the building.
"I was just about to teach him a lesson!" Tony was completely dazed from the impact.
The two Avengers wrestled together in front of Loki.
Loki looked at them and smiled smugly.
He turned around and looked up at the sky.
The first Chitauri have emerged from the enormous wormhole.
Huge warships resembling metal whales, and countless soldiers riding flying motorcycles.
They let out piercing screams and unleashed a barrage of fire toward Manhattan.
