Chapter 31 A Christmas Visit
Chapter 31 A Christmas Visit
The final exams arrived as scheduled. When Owen was full of confidence and ready to take the fourth-year exams, he was told that he didn't have to take them, but he still had to participate because he would be proctoring the History of Magic exam.
Professor Binns is alright in class, but if he were to proctor exams, everyone would probably get full marks on the History of Magic. If they couldn't even get full marks by copying, then it wouldn't be the professor's problem, but the students' own problem.
"Everyone, plagiarism is not allowed, but you can refer to the book. No talking is permitted during the exam; otherwise, I'll make sure you spend your entire holiday in a state of dizziness!"
Unlike other classes, History of Magic only had a written exam. The young wizards were still happy to hear they could look up words in the books, but as they took out their books, ready to copy, Owen spoke up again: "Professor Snape said your brains are like trolls', and I think he's right. I don't expect you to memorize the whole book like Miss Granger, but you should at least know what kind of books you should copy to pass, right?"
After saying that, he waved his hand, and the newly compiled notes on the history of magic were handed out to the young wizards: "The exam has begun. Remember, the consequences of violating the exam rules."
The young wizards were busy with their exams, and not a single one dared to make a sound. Every time they looked up, they could see Owen floating in mid-air, staring down at them with his wand in his hand...
This guy can blow up half a giant monster with a single 'Expelliarmus' shot. If it hits them, there probably won't be a trace left.
The two-hour exam ended half an hour early under high pressure.
Seeing the young wizards preparing to cheer, Owen suddenly laughed: "Anyone who dares to throw a book into the air..."
"Splash!!"
Before he could finish speaking, a book shot into the air. Owen's lips twitched, and he caught the book with a Summoning Charm. It was, indeed, the New History of Magic Notebook. He raised his eyelids, looked at the bewildered young wizard, and said calmly, "Very well, Mr. Ron Weasley, starting next semester, you won't need this book. From now on, your History of Magic exams will be closed-book."
Ron's face was almost turning his hair color, but to his complete surprise, Draco, who had never gotten along with him, walked past him without mocking him. Instead, he cautiously approached Owen and said, "Um... Mr. Carrot, my father would like to invite you to our home during Christmas..."
"It would be my honor, Draco. Please tell Mr. Malfoy that I will go."
You agreed?
Draco looked up abruptly, and seeing the young wizard's gentle smile, he was deeply moved: "That's wonderful, I look forward to your arrival."
Owen was quite surprised, but he had heard Dumbledore say that the Death Eaters who had followed Voldemort had all faced retribution. However, a group of people avoided punishment by using the excuse of being afflicted by the Imperius Curse and paying a large sum of Galleons. The Malfoy family was one of them.
Of course, this was also because there was indeed no evidence of Malfoy committing any wrongdoing during that period...
After the exams, Christmas arrived. The young wizards were amazed when the professors appeared in their stylish robes, which shimmered with gold and silver light.
Professor McGonagall loved green, so Owen designed a fitted, waist-cinching emerald green robe for her. When gold and silver light flowed, a roaring lion would faintly appear on her cuffs.
Professor Sprout liked red, so Owen designed a burgundy robe for her, fastened at the side, so that when she walked, it would leave a brief starlight trail behind her.
Professor Flitwick didn't have much to say; he wore a coffee-colored robe, and when he raised his wand, the alchemical embroidery on his body would form a soaring eagle.
Professor Snape liked black, so he wore a black double-breasted outfit with a large lapel that resembled a long robe. With his swaggering personality, even with his slicked-back hair, he suddenly looked dashing in this outfit. Of course, if you added the starlight-like glow trailing behind him...
What Owen was most satisfied with about these clothes was the alchemical runes on them, but what the professors were most satisfied with was the additional effects that these runes brought.
If all four professors were like this, then Dumbledore, the headmaster, was even more so. When he, radiant with starlight, announced the start of the banquet, the hall was instantly filled with laughter and joy.
There are quite a few young wizards staying at school. They are not homeless, but their parents are away from home, so they choose to stay at school.
Owen will be at the castle tonight, and he will go to the Malfoys' house first thing tomorrow morning. However, he did not expect that when he opened his eyes first thing in the morning, he would find that there was no room to step in his bedroom. It was completely filled with all kinds of gift bags!
Oh, everyone, you're all too kind!
Irving's mood instantly improved; receiving so many gifts all at once...
After getting dressed and tidying himself up, Owen arrived at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, where Hagrid was already waiting with a hippogriff, a privilege Dumbledore had granted.
"Thank you, Hagrid. Don't worry, I'll take good care of it."
Owen didn't bow, but instead hugged its neck. The large eagle's head gently nuzzled the little wizard's head. After the little wizard mounted it, it soared into the sky and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Hagrid stayed where he was, scratched his head, and then grinned sheepishly. It was true, the little wizard was very popular with the magical creatures, especially the grim lemurs, who would even invite the little wizard to dance with them under the moonlight.
What worries Hagrid is that the giant spiders and centaurs don't seem to like the little wizard.
Never mind, I'll go check on Xiaobai instead...
After Owen released Little White into the Forbidden Forest, it became Hagrid's darling. He would visit it every few days and become captivated by Little White's magnificent white wings.
The best part is that I occasionally run into that little leopard named Molly. Although she wasn't very friendly to me and never let me touch her, she doesn't bite me anymore. That's progress!
With that thought in mind, Hagrid happily picked up the fresh raw meat and headed toward the Forbidden Forest.
The Malfoy family's estate was very large, and when Owen descended from the sky, the Malfoy family was already waiting at the gate.
"Mr. Catello is a very polite man..."
When Malfoy looked at the young wizard who had landed outside the manor gate, and then at the boy's clothes, the contempt in his eyes had vanished, and he became much more serious.
Here's a picture of Xiaobai.
