Chapter 91 The Person in the Painting Peeks at the Scarface
Picking up where we left off, Harry threw the Slytherin Cup, enraging the Slytherin students.
Just as the group was about to pounce on him, Harry stabbed several more times, cutting a gash in the wall. Then, with a punch, he created a dark hole behind the wall!
He held the monk's knife horizontally in his hand, aimed it at the cave entrance, and shouted, "Take this!"
It pierced straight in like a bolt of lightning, then pulled out a withered, black hand. The hand had been pierced through by the knife tip, still dripping dark, bloody blood.
Harry swung his ring knife and flung the hand in front of the Slytherin students, sneering, "You lot, come and tell me, what kind of hand is that!"
Dear readers, have you heard this: How did this scarred man spot the flaw at a glance? It turns out that in his previous life, in that village, there was a hero named Li Yun, ranked ninety-seventh. He served as the leader in charge of supervising all matters related to construction, and was responsible for building and repairing houses. He was truly a skilled craftsman.
Even Lu Ban, the legendary master craftsman, would have to give him some credit for his skills.
Li Yun was born with bright green eyes, earning him the nickname "Blue-Eyed Tiger." He noticed Harry also had green eyes, and felt an immediate sense of kinship upon meeting him.
These two blue-eyed men often hung out together. Harry taught him some martial arts, and Li Yun also imparted his architectural skills to him.
Therefore, Harry only needed to take a quick stroll through the Slytherin common room to discover the filthy activities hidden there.
Upon seeing this glorious hand, Flint turned deathly pale, as white as a thin sheet of paper. Snape's face was ashen, like the bottom of a centuries-old crucible.
He gritted his teeth and said, "Whose hand is this? Don't force me to investigate them one by one!"
idiot!
You hopeless idiot!
They were discovered in less than a minute; being kissed by a Dementor is considered an improvement in intelligence!
Flint raised his hand shakily and said nervously, "It's me, Professor."
"Very good, Mr. Marcus Flint! I think you don't need to go home for Christmas. I'll save you a turkey leg and send it to the underground classroom!"
Upon hearing this, Flint swayed precariously, but dared not utter a single word.
"How did you know, Harry?"
Dumbledore suddenly spoke, his pupils behind his glasses fixed on Harry, "How do you know that the alcove is empty?"
Harry cupped his hands and said, "Professor, please allow me to say that I have examined this room closely. The blue bricks are neatly laid, without the slightest error in the joints. They are straight lines no matter how you look at them, and the bricks at the corners are interlocked tightly, truly the work of a master."
"This exquisite room, however, has niches with frayed edges and fresh mud spots peeking out from under the dust, clearly indicating that it has been tampered with!"
After these words were spoken, the lounge fell into a deathly silence.
Flint was so shocked that his eyes bulged out and his jaw dropped as if it had been dislocated. How could he have imagined that Harry had discovered the secret from the cracks in the bricks and the loose mud?
Dumbledore remained silent, but his mind was racing with a thousand thoughts.
Where on earth did Harry learn so much random knowledge?
Was he an engineer who built fortifications during the Muggle Wars?
The old headmaster racked his brains but couldn't come up with a solution. When the house-elves heard Harry's words, they clenched their fists and pounded their heads, wailing in pain.
"Oh! Mr. Harry Potter was right, I really should have looked inside the alcove!"
"No, that's a symbol of wizarding honor! How can we touch it!"
Harry ignored the house-elves and headed toward the two storerooms side by side next to the hall.
He went into the room on the left, took his wand, and cast an explosion spell on the wall. With a loud "boom," shards of stone flew everywhere like raindrops.
As the dust settled, a hidden compartment was revealed in the wall, concealing an iron cage. Upon closer inspection, a rabbit was found inside; its flesh was rotten to the bone, with white bones protruding, yet it was still lively and energetic.
Upon seeing the zombie rabbit, an older student in the crowd, just like Flint, turned pale, as if he had lost his soul.
The remaining students looked closely and were all terrified, breaking out in a cold sweat.
When did the walls of this storage room get a hidden compartment?! Someone's actually keeping zombie rabbits in there!
And how did they know about this scar?
Everyone had the same question in their minds, and Flitwick couldn't contain himself any longer, exclaiming in surprise, "Harry, how did you know there was a hidden compartment in the wall between these two storage rooms?"
Thinking back to the dueling arena fifty years ago, he once encountered a cunning wizard skilled in sand magic. That man summoned walls of sand to form a tower, hiding inside which he was extremely difficult to find.
Seeing that his mentor had a question, Harry cupped his hands and said, "Professor, please allow me to explain. These two storage rooms share a bird wall. The one on the left is nine feet deep, and the one on the right is ten feet deep, which adds up to nineteen feet. However, the outer corridor should be twenty-one feet. This two-foot difference must be hidden in this bird wall."
Flitwick paused, then asked, "When did you take those measurements?"
Harry laughed, "What bird-like equipment do you need? Those two doors are wide open; I can tell the dimensions just by glancing at them."
You should know that in Liangshan stronghold, when they built palaces and houses, repaired corridors and filled in walls, there was no place that could be built without the help of Scarface.
If even the dimensions of three inlets and five inlets are measured incorrectly, and that Blue-Eyed Tiger finds out, he'll probably laugh his teeth out.
Everyone in the lounge was stunned after hearing Harry's words, even Snape stared intently at Harry.
Can you measure length just by looking at it?
Even I wouldn't dare say that I could weigh medicinal herbs by hand in my second year of high school—that would require at least a decade of experience.
How did he manage to do that at such a young age?
The house-elves screamed in surprise when they saw the zombie rabbit.
"Oh no! It's a dark magic creature!"
"I thought all I needed to do was find dark magic items!"
"Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!"
The group of dwarfs squawked and squeaked like beans popping in a pan, making a terrible racket. Harry, however, paid no attention to them, turning the common room and bedroom upside down, and even thoroughly rummaging through Draco's clothes from head to toe.
Although some blood statues, cursed gold coins, and other dark magic items were found, not a single book or piece of paper could be found, as if they had vanished into thin air!
Harry, puzzled and confused, paced back and forth in the common room, lost in thought.
As he turned his head, he vaguely saw something moving beside him. He looked closely and saw a copy of a painting hanging on the wall.
The painting depicts a young man with stubble, deep-set features, and a thick beard. Even though it is drawn with lines and has faded considerably, his extraordinary presence is still evident.
Harry frowned, stared at the drawing for a moment, and a hint of suspicion arose in his mind.
He had examined the drawing several times during the search. If he remembered correctly, the pupils of the person in the drawing should be facing straight ahead, so why are they now skewed to the right?
He pondered for a moment, then pretended to stroll to the left. After taking three or five steps, he suddenly turned his head, only to see that the figure in the painting's eyes had shifted to the left again!
There's a way to expose Slytherin; Tom, the senior, has cleverly concealed his true intentions. No flaws have been revealed, yet the person in the painting's eyes darted around, as if he has something important to tell Harry. But who is this person in the painting, and what does he want to say to Harry? Stay tuned for the next installment.
