Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 163 The hidden truth

Chapter 163 The hidden truth

"You...did you hear what Twinkle said?"

Pansy asked in a somewhat horrified tone after the elf left.

"She said she was fired after the World Cup because she caused an injury to a junior whom Mr. Crouch valued."

"And then he said Draco was Mr. Crouch's most important person..."

Daphne reorganized Twinkle's words, and her peaceful tone began to throb.

“And there are marks.”

"Maybe, Winky was always by my side when I was under the Imperius Curse."

Draco recovered from his shock quickly, his head racing.

He stood up and prepared to leave the dormitory.

"If you are tired, go to bed first. I have something to talk to Professor Snape about."

?My dear Harry,

Is your shoulder okay?

I'm sorry, I originally thought that summoning a broom to fly was a plan that could fully demonstrate your advantages.

I didn't expect that you would get hurt because of this...

The last letter I wrote to you was written very hastily.

Just thinking that with the competition coming up, I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the first level first.

I hope you won't blame me for taking so long to reply to you.

The performance in the competition was wonderful!

I don't think you'd lose to Krum at all in the Triwizard Tournament.

As for, if there is any other competition,

I can tell you with certainty that you will never lose.

If the competition we want is the same...

I did read the Daily Prophet report.

Don't worry, I won't believe a word you say.

That reporter has always been like that.

From childhood to now, Pansy, Daphne and I have all been slandered by her to some extent.

The good news is that perhaps, we will soon have a chance to get rid of her.

This is the girl’s secret, I will tell you when I finish it.

Thanks for the invitation, I would love to visit Padfoot with you.

But be careful.

The Ministry of Magic has invested a lot of effort in the magic competition, and there are many security facilities near the school.

Don't get too proud and get discovered.

Finally, regarding the idea you mentioned.

I think, if we are sure that there is no one around and we won't be discovered...

I won't be angry.

(Ah! Just writing this makes me feel uneasy. Promise me, you will erase it after you read it, okay?)

With wholehearted wishes.

Yours ever,

M

After Draco stepped out of his dormitory, he went directly to the cellar which he was accustomed to visiting.

After knocking on the door, I remembered that Severus might not be in the office.

Fortunately, a reassuring, lazy response came from behind the door.

After stepping through the door, he sat down at Severus's instruction.

"Moody didn't tell you under what circumstances the Imperius Curse would be lifted?"

There was a hint of amusement in Severus' eyes.

"Perhaps he felt that it was too much about the principles of magic and not practical enough."

Draco guessed.

Moody's class does focus more on how to resist the dark arts.

When it comes to the principle of the curse, it is mostly only in his judgment.

These principles are mentioned more when mastering them is more helpful in defense.

"Indeed. Aurors do tend to do that."

"But because of this, they are usually not very great wizards."

Severus' tone was full of disdain. After a pause, he continued.

"You're right to doubt it."

There was approval in his eyes for Draco.

"Unless the caster loses his power for some reason,"

"Or if you lose control of your own mind, the Imperius Curse will automatically lift."

"This happened fourteen years ago."

"When Voldemort was hit by the backlash of the spell, many people were instantly freed from the control of the Imperius Curse."

"If this is the case……"

"I'm a little worried about Mr. Crouch."

Draco groaned.

Trying to piece together the faint memories of the early morning hours the day after the World Cup, and what my father told me afterwards.

-

"Barty Crouch?"

Severus seemed curious about Draco's concern.

"I saw Mr. Crouch's house-elf."

"She was drunk and emotionally unstable, and she accidentally let something slip."

"She most likely had something to do with me being under the Imperius Curse."

Draco spoke slowly. Severus' dark eyes lit up and looked at him seriously.

"The elf doesn't know this kind of magic."

"But I guess you're not doubting Barty Crouch?"

"No. I am worried that there may be some danger lurking around Mr. Crouch."

Draco frowned, trying to organize his still scattered thoughts.

"Before I regained consciousness, Mr. Crouch and other wizards from the Ministry were deep in the woods."

"They seem to have used a Stunning Spell on some suspicious figure."

"It turned out that the figure was Mr. Crouch's house elf."

"That's what you heard, right?"

"You probably hadn't regained consciousness by then."

"Using a Stunning Spell to stun the caster does not remove the spell."

"You have to crack the opponent's mind or greatly weaken his magic power."

Severus spoke calmly, as if guiding his own deduction.

"Not yet. I heard this from my father."

"A witch from the Ministry called Sarah White was also present, and she informed my father privately."

"So... I'm not really sure..."

"Go on."

Perhaps because he saw Draco hesitate to take a break, Severus gave a voice of encouragement.

"Mr. Crouch should still be in the woods when I recover."

"I vaguely heard someone say that he was looking for any suspicious people nearby."

"When he came back, he should have told everyone that he didn't see a single person?"

Severus took it, thinking quietly.

This is a matter of course.

If someone was brought out,

The Dark Mark at the World Cup final will not remain an unsolved case.

Draco nodded and finally stated his speculation.

"If, those wizards really only used the Stunning Spell."

“Perhaps, the real spell caster is indeed hiding in the woods.”

"And he may have had some connection with Mr. Crouch."

Seeing that Severus didn't respond, Draco continued to push.

"For example, it could be that Mr. Crouch has caught a Death Eater on the run."

"But there are some difficulties that prevent him from being handed over to the Ministry of Magic."

“I had no choice but to order Winky to watch over him. But that night, perhaps because of Winky’s negligence, he almost escaped.”

Draco tried to keep his tone calm, trying not to let himself be shaken by this ridiculous reasoning.

"Sparkle will appear in the woods, perhaps trying to make up for the mistake and catch that person back."

"But unfortunately, he was knocked unconscious by the Stunning Spell."

After saying his guess, he looked at Severus.

I was relieved to find that he didn't show any impatience due to stupidity.

That was the look Severus usually displayed during Potions class.

Severus stood up and walked behind his desk.

"So, you think he attacked you, released the Dark Mark."

"And Crouch waited until the other Ministry wizards were driven out of the woods,"

"I used some powerful spell to knock him down."

"It is very likely that the Imperius Curse was used, causing you to break the curse instantly?"

Draco pursed his lips, feeling a little nervous.

He wasn't quite sure what Severus thought of his bold guess.

There was silence for a long time before he spoke.
