Matsuda looked at Gunda with amusement, emphasizing the word "maybe".
Generally speaking, it may fall into the category of low probability and is not the first choice.
Does Gunda also believe that there are no outsiders and that the murderer is among them?
She glared angrily at the smug Matsuda, then Ms. Gunda stopped trying to hide it.
“I do have a target, but I need to ask you where you plan to start your investigation.”
“There are three directions,” Matsuda said, holding up three fingers. “First, reinvestigate the cause of Ogami’s death; second, search for the so-called treasure; and third, search the entire annex.”
"Let's start with the first one then,"
After Miss Gunda finished speaking, she walked towards the restaurant, where Ooshiro's body was still lying.
"Hey, can you tell me which number you came from? Before or after the Great Summit?" Matsuda asked.
"When I arrived, the luxury Porsche and the Mercedes were already there."
Miss Gunda replied impatiently.
"That means before you arrived, Osaka and the murderer were already there, along with Hakuba."
Matsuda nodded.
"Looking at it this way, I wonder if that little guy, White Horse, has discovered anything yet."
"How can you be sure that Hakuba arrived before me?" Gunda asked, puzzled.
“Because you don’t know how Hakuba got here,” Matsuda replied. “Hakuba’s nanny drove here and then left, and you didn’t even notice. That doesn’t fit your title as a famous detective.”
A true detective must possess extraordinary observational skills and a keen eye for detail; otherwise, they cannot be competent in the work of a detective.
Of course, this excludes Mōri.
Gunda nodded silently, acknowledging Matsuda's speculation.
"By the way, where's your luminol spray?" Matsuda suddenly asked.
"Of course, you wouldn't carry that thing around with you casually."
Miss Gunda gave a perfunctory reply.
"There's a reason why Shigeki agreed to pair Hakuba and Koshimizu together."
Matsuda said this out of the blue.
“When we first came in, you were carrying luminol spray and White Horse was carrying his eagle. They weren’t just wandering around idly; they were observing the environment.”
"As for Yue Shui, she has a lot of information about this villa, much of it from the police, the kind that ordinary people wouldn't be able to get."
Chapter 311 You're such a useless forensic doctor!
“Compared to us, who arrived last, you and Osaka have plenty of time to get to know this annex.”
Matsuda continued,
“You might have things we don’t know, which is why Shigeki didn’t rule out Hakuba’s participation. Now, is there anything you want to tell me?”
After considering it for a moment, Ms. Gunda finally spoke.
"I found something in a room upstairs. To be precise, a passage, a riddle that hides a treasure."
"Is it what the murderer was babbling about just now?" Matsuda asked definitively, "things like kings, queens, and soldiers?"
“That’s right, those are the ones.” Miss Gunda nodded. “Besides that, I made some other discoveries. A man seemed to have solved the riddle, but he was killed by Karasuma.”
"Karasuma? Wasn't Karasuma Renya already dead?" Matsuda asked in surprise. "Could it be that the man deciphered the code forty years ago? Back when Karasuma was still alive?"
"Probably. Based on the current clues, Karasuma died shortly after he solved the mystery, and then the tragedy that happened on the night of the auction occurred."
After Miss Gunda finished speaking, she looked at Matsuda with a half-smile.
"And I think you'll be very interested in that man's name!"
"Hehe, sorry, I'm not that interested in men's names!"
As Matsuda spoke, seeing that they had reached the restaurant entrance, he simply pushed the door open.
With the creak of the door opening, the three people inside turned around and looked over. It was Shigeki, Hakuba, and Koshimizu.
"So, any leads?" Matsuda casually greeted.
Shigeki scoffed, and the white horse beside him chuckled.
"Before asking others, you should at least share your own findings, Officer Matsuda, right?"
“That’s a pity, I haven’t found anything here yet,” Matsuda shrugged. “Then come back to us when you’ve found something, Officer Matsuda.”
After Bai Ma finished speaking, he gestured for Shigeki and Koshimizu to leave together.
As Koshimizu was leaving, he nodded subtly, clearly hinting at Matsuda.
This group of people had clearly discovered something.
......
"You saw Koshimizu's hint, didn't you, former coroner?" Matsuda said. "Shouldn't we have made some discoveries on our side as well?"
"Generally speaking, the minimum lethal dose of potassium cyanide is 5 grams, and the onset of an attack lasts only a dozen seconds."
Xiao Ai suddenly interjected,
"Perhaps we should first investigate how Mr. Daishang managed to ingest the potassium cyanide?"
"Little sister, you know quite a lot?" Miss Gunda looked at Ai with surprise.
“Officer Matsuda told me all of this,” Ai replied casually.
"He's not a police officer, you should call him cousin!"
Matsuda pinched Ai's cheek, then awkwardly let go under the girl's disgusted gaze.
"Ms. Gunda, performing autopsies is your job, so I'm leaving the rest to you!"
"What a joke! Do you want me to dissect Ogami right now?" Miss Gunda said angrily.
"Isn't this your job?" Matsuda asked in surprise. "Is there some difficulty?"
"There was no venue, no tools, no sterilization equipment, and most importantly, I didn't even have permission to perform the autopsy!"
Ms. Gunda immediately rattled off a whole host of reasons.
"I'm not the same coroner I used to be; I no longer have the authority to dissect corpses at will!"
"Uh, what's the point of me being in your group?"
Matsuda made sarcastic remarks, and Ai, standing beside him, also showed a look of disdain.
"You two!" Miss Gunda gritted her teeth in anger. "It wasn't me who wanted to split up!"
Miss Gunda glared angrily at the two people beside her, one big and one small, but then suppressed her anger and walked to Ooue's corpse.
"Tell me, what do you want me to check?"
She put on white gloves and said irritably,
"As long as it doesn't involve dissection, I can still perform examinations on the surface of the body."
As she spoke, she began to rummage through Da Shang's corpse.
"First, we need to determine when the poisoning occurred,"
Matsuda pulled up a chair and sat down, reminiscing about the situation as he casually recounted...
“Potassium cyanide can kill a person in just ten seconds, and Da Shang had been with us in the restaurant for the past ten minutes or so.”
"So the thing that could poison him must be here too, perhaps his tableware? Food? Or maybe that cup of black tea?"
"There's no potassium cyanide in the black tea we drank at the time, that's for sure,"
Miss Gunda frowned.
"As for the food, it was prepared by the emperor himself, so there shouldn't be any problem."
"As for the tableware, I remember that Da Shang wiped it carefully at the time."
"In fact, up to now, I haven't found anything on Da Shang that I can eat."
Miss Gunda reached out and pried open Ooue's mouth, checking it as she casually complained.
"Instead of sitting there watching me examine you, why don't you stand up and walk around? You might discover something."
"Don't worry, I've already checked this place," Matsuda shook his head. "The floor is spotless, and there are no other unusual items in any corner!"
"Perhaps he didn't ingest the potassium cyanide?"
Ai suddenly came up with an idea.
"Perhaps someone simply applied potassium cyanide somewhere, and then, taking advantage of some habit of Mr. Ogami, he absorbed the potassium cyanide into his body?"
"Heh, it seems your cousin is more qualified to be a police officer than you," Miss Gunda mocked.
"What? Ai guessed right?" Matsuda asked in surprise.
"Um,"
Miss Gunda gave Ai a strange look.
"This little girl is right."
"So, how exactly did he get poisoned?"
Matsuda squatted next to Ogami's corpse, waiting for Gunda to explain.
"here......"
Miss Gunda reached out and took Ooue's wrist, then pointed at his fingers and said...
"Big thumb, there are obvious signs of biting on the nail here!"
"That's it!" Matsuda realized as well. "When Ogami is thinking, he always has a habit of biting his fingers! The murderer must have used that to kill him!"
"But Da Shang is a famous detective, after all. There was clearly something wrong with his trip to the villa. How could he be so careless as to get potassium cyanide on his fingers?"
Ms. Gunda said, full of confusion, that she remembered very clearly that back in the restaurant, everyone had switched seats by playing rock-paper-scissors because they were worried about being poisoned.
