Signs of miscarriage!

Everyone was taken aback by the words of the Senior Imperial Physician. The older doctor who was first called didn’t agree and stepped up to argue, "Miscarriage? How can that be? Clearly, she’s about to give birth..."

"Imperial Physician Xu," Purple Jade interrupted the two’s debate and asked, "What could be the reason for Madam’s miscarriage?"

"The causes for a woman’s miscarriage are typically few: poor physical condition leading to inability to sustain, external force causing harm, or medication," replied Old Imperial Physician Xu. "Your condition is rather okay. To have signs of miscarriage up till now, it seems you mistakenly ingested something leading to miscarriage, but the onset isn’t severe, suggesting the dosage was relatively small."

Madam Zhou and Purple Jade felt as if they had fallen into an ice cellar.

"Madam’s food is attended by dedicated personnel; nothing dirty could be added," Qiu Xiang said urgently.

Imperial Physician Xu nodded, "If food can be ruled out, then there might be other means, like prolonged exposure to medicine causing miscarriage."

Madam Zhou seemed dazed by this implication. Does it mean someone intends to harm her?

Purple Jade suppressed anger and inquired, "Imperial Physician Xu, what should be done for our Madam now?"

Madam Zhou’s stomach throbbed violently again, warmth spread below, a faint bloody smell seemed to emanate from underneath the covers.

Everyone’s face changed in shock.

Imperial Physician Xu said, "I’ll first administer acupuncture, then prescribe a formula for labor induction, brew the medicine, and induce labor."

"Imperia—Imperial Physician, induce labor?"

"If labor isn’t induced promptly, your cervix won’t open, and once the water breaks, the fetus will suffocate inside!"

Madam Zhou’s body went limp, her face was ashen.

"Please prescribe the medicine," Purple Jade decisively commanded.

The room was swiftly cleared of unnecessary people, with Purple Jade personally overseeing Imperial Physician Xu’s acupuncture. Watching Madam Zhou’s complexion improve somewhat, a heavier weight sat in her heart.

Following acupuncture, the labor-inducing formula was immediately prepared, with Purple Jade instructing Nanny Shen to personally brew and administer it to Madam Zhou.

While waiting for Madam Zhou to go into labor, Purple Jade directed Nanny Cheng to watch over the area, then took people to Madam Lu and her group’s quarters.

"Search all their belongings, leave nothing unturned," Purple Jade gestured, "Go to the wood storage, besides undergarments, strip everything else including clothes and jewelry."

It’s not unwarranted for Purple Jade to suspect the mother and daughter duo. After their appearance, the timing coincided precisely with Madam Zhou’s incident, and most importantly, they emerged from the Wu Family.

Purple Jade feared she had missed something which led to Madam Zhou’s predicament, hence, she decided to search thoroughly once more.
