Chapter 6: Thor
Chapter 6: Thor
"The world's strongest? That's quite a boast. Are all people from China this good at bragging?"
A violent shout rang out in the command post.
Thor tossed the battle report onto the table with a disdainful look. Electricity crackled across his body.
"Lord Thor, this news came from the Chinese military. That guy named Hong did indeed kill a monster over sixty meters tall with a single shot, and it's said he can even fly."
The adjutant beside him spoke cautiously, his eyes filled with awe.
"What's so great about being able to fly? I can fly too."
Thor smirked, his body crackling with electricity as he levitated three inches off the ground.
"Hmph, it's just killing a slightly larger beast. Once I've cleaned up this scum on the Siberian plain, I'll go to China. I want to see for myself what makes them dare to call themselves the world's number one."
Thor's eyes were filled with a warlike glint. He only trusted his own fists.
The lieutenant opened his mouth, but seeing Thor's expression, he reluctantly closed it again.
Just then, a scout rushed in, his expression a mixture of fear and excitement.
"Lord Thor, a beast tide has been detected. It's enormous, and at its center, a beast king has been discovered."
"What? The Beast King?"
Everyone in the command center stood up. Thor's eyes lit up, and his body crackled with electricity.
"Good heavens, they've finally come out. Give the order: everyone assemble, prepare for the hunt."
……
On the Siberian wilderness, a massive horde of beasts is migrating toward the coastal base.
At the very heart of the beast tide, a colossal beast over a hundred meters long, with three ferocious canine heads, stood out conspicuously. Its scales had a jet-black metallic sheen, and with each flick of its tail, it carved a deep trench into the ground.
At the forefront of the beast tide, hundreds of warriors stood silently, observing it. They were all dressed in black combat uniforms and carried various weapons.
At the very front of the group, a young man in black training clothes carried a long spear and gazed at the beast tide.
He is Hong.
Just as Hong was preparing to make his deployment, the western sky suddenly darkened.
Bolts of lightning cleaved down from the dark clouds, striking the rear of the beast horde and instantly turning countless monsters into charred remains.
A force of several thousand martial artists charged in from behind the beast tide. The leader, wielding a battle sword and wreathed in electric snakes, was none other than Thor and his Thunder Martial Arts School.
"It's Thor and the others. They've arrived too."
The crowd at the Extreme Martial Arts Academy stirred.
Thor led his men, fighting their way through the horde of beasts, straight towards the three-headed demonic mastiff. He was going to seize this beast king.
Thor stopped less than a kilometer away from the Demon Hound. His gaze swept over the heads of countless monsters and locked onto the figure standing in front of the Ultimate Martial Arts Hall.
"Hey. You're martial artists from China, aren't you?"
Thor leaped with all his might, flying over the horde of beasts to get closer, his eyes scanning Hong up and down.
"So you're that Hong guy? You don't look like you have three heads and six arms. I heard you call yourself the best in the world, and I, Thor, am the first to disagree."
"Thor, watch your mouth. Do you think you can just call Master Hong by his name like that?"
A powerful member of the Extreme Martial Arts Academy stepped forward and shouted.
"Ha, you want to fight? I'm in."
Thor tilted his head and cracked his wrists, his knuckles popping as lightning crackled all over his body.
"alright."
Hong spoke. The martial arts experts behind him immediately fell silent.
"Our enemy is the monster, not our own people."
Hong turned to look at Thor.
Thor exchanged a glance with him, and his fighting spirit subsided somewhat.
"Hmph, I understand that principle. But let me make this clear from the start."
Thor pointed to the three-headed demon mastiff at the center of the beast tide in the distance.
"That beast is mine now. You're not allowed to interfere. After I kill it, I'll settle the score with you for being number one in the world, how about that?"
Thor crossed his arms, looking like he had him cornered.
Hong looked at him and suddenly smiled.
"How do you want to calculate this?"
"It's very simple."
Thor took a step forward, his fighting spirit soaring into the sky once more, causing the ground to crack slightly.
"Right here today, let's settle this with our strength. Whoever wins, everyone will listen to him from now on. How about it? I'll let you make the first move."
Everyone at the Extreme Martial Arts Academy watched Hong nervously.
Hong slowly uttered two words.
"Can."
Thor was stunned for a moment, then overjoyed.
"Okay, that's straightforward. Everyone step back and make room for us."
He roared excitedly, signaling his men to scatter.
Although the people from the Extreme Martial Arts Academy were worried, they silently retreated.
Only Hong and Thor remained in the arena. The beast tide drew ever closer in the distance, and the earth trembled.
"Come on. Let me see just how much you're really worth as the world's number one."
Thor roared, no longer suppressing his power. Dark clouds gathered in the sky, and streaks of lightning flashed through them.
Electric snakes shot out from his body and converged on his battle blade. The heavy battle blade transformed into a blade of lightning.
The terrifying energy fluctuations made the martial artists watching from afar feel their hearts tremble.
"This...is this Thor's full power? It's terrifying."
"Can the gym owner win?"
Everyone held their breath, staring intently at the scene.
Thor's momentum reached its peak; he was confident that this strike would cleave the three-headed demon in two.
He grinned, preparing to swing the knife.
Just then, Hongdong on the other side made a move.
He made no offensive move; he simply released something invisible, centered on himself.
Thor's movements suddenly froze. The arrogance and excitement on his face instantly solidified, leaving only astonishment and confusion.
He felt the world had changed. The wind had died down, the roars of the beast tide were gone, and the lightning in the sky seemed to have stopped. His connection with the lightning element had been severed by an even more domineering force.
He felt a pain as if his skin were being pierced by millions of steel needles. The genetic energy within his body became sluggish, and the battle blade in his hand, imbued with lightning, dimmed.
He tried to move, but found his body too heavy to move, and he couldn't even move his eyes.
He could only watch as the young man in black calmly walked towards him step by step.
His steps were light, but with each step, Thor felt the pressure around him tighten, and the intent to cut grew sharper. He felt his body being disintegrated by this domain.
What kind of power is this? What kind of monster is this?
It wasn't an energy attack, nor was it psychic power. It was a power he couldn't comprehend at all.
Just when he felt his spirit was about to be crushed by this invisible pressure, Hong slowly walked up to him.
As Hong approached, the powerful aura that seemed to crush heaven and earth receded like a tide, disappearing without a trace.
Hong dispersed from his domain.
In an instant, the world came alive again. The sounds of wind, the roar of the beast horde, and thunder rang out simultaneously.
"Hoo... Hah..."
Thor gasped for breath, and his sword clattered to the ground. He swayed, barely managing to stay upright by using the sword for support.
Everyone witnessed this bizarre scene. Without a fight, Thor gathered immense power, and Hong simply walked towards him, yet Thor was defeated.
Hong did not make any sarcastic remarks.
He reached out his hand under Thor's still-shaken gaze and said calmly.
"Your physical abilities are strong, but not yet refined. Would you be willing to join me in protecting this planet?"
