Fortunately, Spa had located Sam early on, so he didn't lose him and continued to chase after him at full speed.
As long as you don't fall too far behind, you've won.
Spall muttered to himself.
But the next second, he unexpectedly saw Sam's back.
Huh? What happened?
Spah was curious and quickened his pace, the clanging of metal ringing in his ears.
He moved closer and saw more than a dozen monsters swarming around the girl, trapping her in the center.
Spah shifted his gaze, observing the monsters.
He discovered that the monsters came in various shapes and sizes; some resembled humans covered in armor, while others looked like tree branches or machines.
Their only common feature is their bright colors, mostly solid shades like bright red and sea blue.
It turned out to be a Rift Monster
Having traveled the universe for many years, Spall naturally knew that these monsters before him were rift creatures originating from the star core.
He also knew that these monsters, though ferocious, were utterly irrational. Even now, after several had been killed, they still swarmed towards Sam like locusts.
Sam, surrounded by flames, unleashed each strike with intense heat, leaving dents in the monster's body.
The rift monster was launched like a bowling ball, knocking away the other illusory soldiers. None of the dozen or so monsters could even get close.
Unfortunately, there were too many monsters from the Rift Realm, and even more allies from afar surged in to join the battle.
The fireflies couldn't rush out for a while.
Spall watched, drew his charged gun, and aimed it at a monster. But just as he pulled the trigger, he saw Sam suddenly change his tactics.
The mech soared into the air, then crashed back to the ground, sending up dozens of red meteors that crashed into the horde of monsters.
Bang!
Boom!
Sam landed, triggering a series of explosions.
In an instant, the once pristine white snowfield transformed into a sea of red fire. The raging flames boiled and scorched, roasting all the monsters alive.
Slurp!
Spa drooled.
However, before he could snatch a single Rift Monster to eat, he saw Sam take off again, flying close to the ground at low altitude.
Flames swirled around the outside of the mech, transforming into sharp blades that swept across the icy ground, carving deep furrows.
Wherever Sam went, flames erupted, and monsters surged in like a tide, only to fall one after another like dominoes.
Spah followed behind her and saw the ground littered with debris; the Rift Monsters had shattered into pieces.
Spall did a quick count and found that the number of monsters that had appeared so far far exceeded the number of antimatter legions encountered at the space station.
Star core, ice and snow, rift monsters... What exactly did Yalilo VI experience?
Spah's thoughts were in turmoil when he suddenly felt a tightness in his chest and a faint pang of sadness welled up at the tip of his nose.
But the next second, he yawned, shook his head, and refocused his thoughts on the chase, pushing off the ground with his legs and running faster and faster.
He saw that the number of rift monsters along the way was decreasing, and Sam stopped moving and stayed in one place, motionless.
Spah caught up with the tall, silver figure and, remembering the hardship of the chase, raised an eyebrow and rushed forward.
The insects have disappeared.
"It's firefly!" Liu Ying suddenly said.
Spah stopped and paused for a moment before coming to his senses.
"You mean: you located the insect's coordinates, but didn't see the insect... So, why were you in such a hurry?"
Spah continued to berate her, but noticed that Firefly didn't respond much; she just stood there, lost in thought.
Spah rolled his eyes, unwilling to talk to Firefly anymore, and squatted down, preparing to rewind time.
Suddenly, Spa noticed something strange about the snow; there was a series of footprints on it.
Spah leaned closer to examine the footprints, only to find that they were not very deep and the shoe size did not appear to be large.
The owner of the footprints seemed to be very light-weight.
Spas pondered, twitching his nose, and faintly smelled a wisp of smoke, mixed with the wind and snow, making it difficult to discern.
He could only tell that the smoke from the cooking fire had already been extinguished. It had been extinguished about ten minutes ago.
I have a feeling someone is camping nearby.
Spa licked his lips, squinted, and prepared to rewind time, but before he could act, he smelled a burning scent in his nostrils.
boom!
The sound of the explosion penetrated my eardrums.
Spah turned his head and saw Sam engulfed in flames, with orange flames spreading outwards from the mech as its core.
The flames formed a circle and instantly burned Spa's feet.
Spa leaped into the air, stepping on an energy shield. He shifted his gaze to the snowfield, only to see the flames burning ever brighter, turning the once white world completely crimson.
"Waaaah... Don't burn it! Don't burn it! I'll come out, okay?"
Spa heard cries for help coming from beneath the snowfield. A man jumped out from underground.
Chapter 42 Honesty and Integrity Bring Joy to Life
"Dude, is it really that serious? Going into the snow isn't a big deal, you don't need to blow me up with firecrackers, do you?"
The man was shouting and yelling. He was wearing a red and white jacket, and his short, dark blue hair was like straw, fluttering wildly in the cold wind.
But Kosper didn't care about any of that.
He stared into the man's pupils and saw those green eyes reflecting the sunlight, swirling and turning like a wolf's, revealing a deep cunning.
Even more alarming, Spa also sensed a faint, almost imperceptible, aura of pleasure emanating from the man.
I didn't have the authority to send letters and messages to him.
Spa rolled his eyes, stepped forward, leaned close to the man, lowered his voice, and asked, "Were you the one camping nearby just now?"
As he questioned the man, Spa moved his gaze to observe his expression and noticed that the man was clearly taken aback.
Yes! Of course it's me!
The man narrowed his eyes, took a few steps back, and parted his lips in a wide grin:
"There are treasures in the snowfield. But don't worry, I, Sangbo, never hog anything. We'll all make money together, hahaha!"
Spa shrugged, neither agreeing nor disagreeing, but simply took a step closer to the man.
"Your name is Sambo?" Spa asked.
"Sambo Koski, nice to meet you. We're all in the same line of work, so please don't pass on my message to the Silvermane Guards..."
"Who's traveling with you..."
Spah frowned, about to say something, when he suddenly felt the temperature around him rise sharply. He turned his head slightly and saw the Sam mech rushing towards him.
Liu Ying stretched out her iron hand, grabbed Sangbo by the neck, and with a little force, pushed Sangbo to the side of the hillside.
Clang!
Sambo crashed heavily into the rock wall, and the snow poured down, soaking his head and turning his short blue hair white.
"Hero, please speak properly..."
Sambo chuckled dryly.
But before he could finish speaking, there was a "click" sound, and Sam raised his palm cannon high, aiming it at his cheek.
I'll ask, you answer; don't try to be clever, or else...
Heat flames erupted from Sam's palm, drying the snow off Sambo's head.
Sambo trembled all over and looked at Spa with pleading eyes.
But Spac is no saint either. Ignoring Sambo completely, he coordinated with the firefly's movements, raised his energy gun, and aimed it at Sambo's head:
“Sam is right. You choose honesty or you choose death! First, answer me, what is the Silvermane Iron Guard?”
As he spoke, Spare pressed a gun against Sambo's head.
"Hey! Asking questions? You should have said so earlier. I, Sambo, am always open to answering any questions I have. But how come you don't even know about the Silvermane Iron Guards?"
Sambo moved his feet, trying to retreat, but the rock wall blocked his way, leaving him with no way to go.
I'm here to ask questions, not to answer yours!
Spah's finger twitched slightly, touching the trigger.
"Ah! Let's talk this out!"
Sambo's eyes darted around, and his body trembled repeatedly.
"The Silvermane Iron Guards are Belloborg's army, law enforcement, police... those guys are completely inflexible, just like..."
Sambo's voice grew softer and softer.
Spa saw that Sangban had raised his arms high, palms outstretched.
boom!
An explosion rang out, and thick white smoke rose from the ground. The smoke grew thicker and thicker, obscuring Spa's vision in the blink of an eye.
"Haha! Just as simple-minded as you guys!"
From deep within the smoke came Sambo's laughter.
Amidst the laughter, Spah caught a whiff of a pungent odor, causing his nostrils to flare and prompting him to instinctively cover them with his hand.
Good heavens! That guy was trying to slip away under the guise of something...
Spah's heart stirred slightly. He focused the power of destiny in his eyes and looked ahead. Sure enough, he found that Sambo had vanished without a trace.
As the white smoke gradually dissipated, Spa turned slightly to the side and saw Sambo appear dozens of meters away. He then took off running.
Spa didn't chase after her, but instead turned to look at Firefly.
Liu Ying was kneeling, coughing softly. Despite being dressed in mecha armor, her symptoms were more severe than when she was naked.
[Short circuit... Never mind me, go after Sambo first.]
"Let the bullets fly for a while, no rush."
Spare grinned, his legs rooted to the spot, completely still. He even opened a bag of Doritos and started chewing.
*Smack!* *Smack smack smack...*
After finishing half a bag of snacks, Spa looked up and gazed at the sky, where he saw a small red dot in the azure sky.
The red dot grew larger and larger, revealing Sambo's figure.
"Waaaaah! Help! Help! There's a monster! No, no! There's a bird! Ahhhhh... Where did this creature come from, Yalilo?!"
Sambo wept bitterly, tears streaming down his face like raindrops, spraying down from the sky.
Two giant bird claws were hooked on either side of his shoulders.
Strangely, the creature on the bird's claws was not a bird at all. It had the head of a lion, but its body was like that of a python, stretched out and covered in fish scales.
"I'm sorry, Grandpa's drawing skills are terrible, I can't draw an immortal dragon, please bear with it..."
Spah grinned mischievously, holding the Ma Liang Brush in his hand, and gently swayed it towards Sambo in mid-air.
It turned out that he had already secretly drawn a dragon and hidden it underground, just waiting for Sambo to make his escape.
"You masked fools, how come you only ever use running away as your trick... You need to improve your methods."
Spa yawned and watched as Sambo fell heavily into a snow pit, snowflakes spraying outwards like a fountain.
"You're ruthless! You're ruthless! I'll behave myself, okay?"
Sambo emerged from the snow cave in a disheveled state, covered in dust and mud, with blood even spurting out.
